NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Galway City Council proposes to make an order closing:

Galway Council has awarded funding of €560,242 for 19 community groups to undertake community climate action projects. The funding which was made available by the Department of Environment, Climate and Communications under the Community Climate Action Fund, offers an opportunity to build low carbon, climate resilient communities and reduce the future impact of climate change whist working towards a more sustainable future.

Galway City Council is pleased to launch non-statutory public consultation and engagement on the new Kingston and Millers Lane Neighbourhood Parks. The proposed parks will include three large sports facilities primarily for hockey, soccer and rugby; community buildings with changing pavilions; and children and young people’s facilities.

Section 9 of the Local Government Rates and other Matters Act 2019, makes specific provision that elected members of a local authority may make a scheme providing for the abatement of rates in respect of vacant properties and that such a scheme shall be approved at the local authority budget meeting, concerning the local financial year to which the scheme shall apply. Galway City Council will consider a scheme providing for abatement of rates in respect of vacant properties, applying in the 2025 local financial year.
