Galway City Council’s two nominations for the 2025 Pride of Place Awards were recognised for outstanding community work, at a gala awards ceremony attended by 500 delegates, in the Strand Hotel, Limerick on Friday night (7 November 2025).

The National Office for Community Safety, together with the Galway City Local Community Safety Partnership, invites you to take part in an upcoming Townhall Consultation focused on improving community safety.

Galway City Council has welcomed the announcement by Minister for Justice, Home Affairs and Migration, Jim O’Callaghan, of the newly appointed members of the Galway City Local Community Safety Partnership (LCSP). This new initiative replaces the Joint Policing Committee and brings together residents, community groups, public services, and elected representatives to work collaboratively on local safety issues.
