Galway City Council, in partnership with Access for All Galway City, Fáilte Ireland, Galway City Partnership, and the Disability Federation of Ireland, is pleased to announce the launch of a new Disability Awareness Training for businesses operating within the city's night-time economy. This initiative, part of the Galway City Council Night-Time Economy Action Plan 2024-2025, aims to create a more inclusive and welcoming environment for people with disabilities, ensuring everyone can enjoy Galway's vibrant nightlife. This training is the first in a series aimed at enhancing accessibility and inclusivity in the night-time economy.

Galway City Council is delighted to announce this year’s allocation of funding under the Sports Club Grants Scheme. In all, €140,000 was allocated to 50 different clubs with 26 clubs receiving the maximum grant amount of €3,500.

Social Inclusion Week takes place in Galway City from 21st to 26th October 2024.
The theme for this year's Social Inclusion Week is ‘ Just a Minute of Patience ‘ because sometimes people need a little more patience and consideration to participate in the same way as everyone else.
