A Galway-City based support service for children and adolescents has taken a top prize in the IPB Pride of Place competition, the winners of which were announced at a gala awards ceremony in the Hillgrove Hotel, Monaghan on Saturday night (2 November 2024).

Galway City Council, in partnership with Access for All Galway City, Fáilte Ireland, Galway City Partnership, and the Disability Federation of Ireland, is pleased to announce the launch of a new Disability Awareness Training for businesses operating within the city's night-time economy. This initiative, part of the Galway City Council Night-Time Economy Action Plan 2024-2025, aims to create a more inclusive and welcoming environment for people with disabilities, ensuring everyone can enjoy Galway's vibrant nightlife. This training is the first in a series aimed at enhancing accessibility and inclusivity in the night-time economy.
