Park and Ride

Local authorities, together with public transport providers, may provide park and ride facilities so that people can park their car in a designated car park and transfer to public transport.

When does the Christmas Park and Ride Service begin?

The Christmas Park and Ride Service begins Saturday 14th December and runs until Tuesday 24th December (Inclusive).

How often will the Park & Ride Service run throughout the day? 

Buses will run every 15 minutes in both directions Monday to Saturday from 9.30am to 9.15pm. On Sundays, the service will run every 15 minutes from 11.00am to 7.00pm and every 30 minutes from 7.00pm to 9.15pm

How much does the Park & Ride Service Cost?

Fares are €1 per person each-way. Children and pensioners travel for free. Cash and Card are both accepted as a method of payment.

The Christmas Park & Ride Services is an initiative of Galway City Council aimed at alleviating traffic congestion in Galway City in the run up to Christmas.
