Community Group focus sessions and events

The Salthill business community play an integral part in the growth and development of Salthill. Their collaborative approach and community involvement have helped enhanced the village's appeal and contributed significantly to its economic and social growth. We value their insights and invite all Salthill business owners to participate in shaping our community's future in the Salthill Village and Seafront Framework Plan.
When: 6th of February in the Salthill Hotel between 4pm and 6pm
Swimmers and Dippers
Galway Bay and Blackrock Sea swimmers and dippers are a vibrant part of the Salthill community, contributing significantly to the area's vibrant character and wellbeing. We recognize the importance of open water swimming for mental health and community bonding. To capture the unique perspectives of these dedicated individuals, we are hosting a swimmers and dippers event where you will have an opportunity to share your experiences, opinions, and aspirations for Salthill and its seafront. Their insights will be help in shaping a vision to supports the thriving swimming community.
When: 7th of February At Blackrock Diving Tower between 11am and 1:30pm
Residents drop-in
Salthill’s local residents are fundamental to understanding the area, its history and how it could be improved. Residents will help us to appreciate the details and nuances of Salthill to help realise a vision and plan that serves and supports the local community as our lifestyles change and evolve.
When: 21st of February 2024 in The Salthill Hotel between 4 and 8pm.
Pop-up on the Prom
On Saturday 22nd February we will be on the Promenade to chat to local residents and visitors about what they love about Salthill, and where they see potential for improvements.
Whether you have thoughts about how we could improve streets, public spaces, the Promenade or the seafront, want to share a story about Salthill in the past, have been inspired by another place you’ve visited, or just want to come and find out more about the project, come by to say hello!
Tell us about your favourite places and events, and your ideas for the future. We’ll have both Irish and English speakers at the pop-up, and activities for children.
The pop-up event is designed to be fun and informal. Come at any time and stay as long or as short as you’d like.
