Privacy Notice – Consultation on the Draft Development Contribution Scheme

Purpose and legal basis

Galway City Council have developed a Draft Development Scheme for the period 2020 – 2026 in accordance with. Section 48 (4) of the Planning & Development Act 2000 (as amended) for the administrative area of Galway City Council. The Scheme provides for the levying of development contributions in accordance with the planning legislation to contribute to the funding of public infrastructure and facilities benefiting the development of the City.

 

As part of the process set out in the Planning & Development Act 2000 (as amended) submissions or observations in respect to the draft development scheme are welcomed by the local authority.

 

The legal basis for processing your personal data is that the processing is

·       Necessary to comply with our legal obligations

·       Necessary for us to carry out our tasks in the public interest and/or in the exercise of the official authority vested in us.

What we need

To make a submission we need your name and address.

During the submission process you may also supply an email address or telephone number.

Why we need it

We need this information to:

1.       Carry out our obligations to process your responses to public consultations;

2.       To notify you of confirmation that we have received your response to a consultation

 

What we do with it

The observations/submissions and your personal data will inform the making of the Development Contribution Scheme. They will become part of the file relating to the Development Contribution Scheme.

Your personal data and submission/observations will form part of the report linked to the making of the Development Contribution Scheme.

The Chief Executive’s Report on submissions and observations will include the names of those who made a submission/observations. The report will be referenced in the Council minutes of the meeting.

How long we keep it These records will be retained permanently in the archive.
Share the data with The submission/observations are a public record and are available for public inspection at Galway City Council premises and on our website.
