Who is responsible for the management of Galway City Council Housing Estates & Properties?

Galway City Council owns and manages over 2100 properties in Galway City.

Estate Management is primarily about making local authority estates better places to live in.

Who can I contact in relation to queries about my estate?

The City Council employs three Tenant Liaison Officers (TLO) - each with their own designated area.

The Tenant Liaison Officers provide a wide range of services to tenants:

  • Advice to Tenants on all details of their tenancy
  • Development of Residents Associations
  • Provide details of services being provided in the area
  • Assist in problems in which may occur in the estates
  • Anti-social behaviour

Any enquiries in relation to Estate Management can be directed to the relevant Tenant Liaison Officer for your area.

The Tenant Liaison Officers are:

There are anti-social behaviour issues in my estate, who can I contact?

You can report any incidents of Anti-Social Behaviour to the Tenant Liaison Officers or any Housing Official.

You can also Download and complete the Anti-Social Behaviour Complaint Form (below) and return to Galway City Council, Housing Department.

All reported incidents are treated confidentially and investigated in a fair, impartial and objective manner.

Anti-Social Behaviour is described as:

The manufacture, production, preparation, importation, exportation, sale, supply, possession for the purpose of sale or supply or distribution of a controlled drug
(within the meaning of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1977 or 1984)

Any behaviour which is to cause any significant danger or injury damage, loss or fear to any person living, working or otherwise lawfully in or in the vicinity of a house provided by the Housing Authority under the Housing Acts 1966 - 1997. Or in the Housing Estate in which the house is situated or a site, and without prejudice to the foregoing, includes violence, threats, intimidation, coercion, harassment or serious obstruction of any person.
