Galway City Council’s Personal and Community Resilience Booklet, is a practical guide designed to help individuals, families and communities prepare for and respond to emergencies. The booklet provides clear, accessible information on emergency planning, household preparedness, severe weather readiness, home safety, first aid essentials and accessing reliable emergency information. It encourages residents to take simple steps now to ensure they can remain safe and as self-sufficient as possible during unexpected events or evacuations.
Prepared by the Community Department of Galway City Council, the booklet also highlights the importance of community resilience, including the role of Community Support Centres, neighbourhood supports and services available to vulnerable residents. Covering a wide range of topics from storm and flooding preparedness to health emergencies and community safety, the resource aims to strengthen the capacity of communities across the city to support one another and recover more effectively when emergencies occur.
