The Arts Organisation Grant awarded €450,000 for two strands, one being Community, Voluntary & Amateur, with 22 beneficiary groups across the city, as well as the Professional strand, with 32 professional organisations receiving funding to provide engaging and exciting cultural experiences across Galway City. Creative Practitioner Bursary 2026
The Creative Practitioner Bursary fund totalled €45,000, with 33 Galway City-based artists receiving awards to develop new work and support practice. Awards have been offered to creative practitioners at different stages of their careers across multiple disciplines; including, but not limited to, theatre, film, music, visual arts, multidisciplinary arts, poetry, and dance. Band Grant 2026
The Band Performance Grant scheme provides €20,000 annually to the city’s school and community bands. The grant supports band development and performance in Galway City. This year’s grants have been awarded to 10 bands in the city, all of whom work with young people, including school groups and St. Patrick’s Brass Band.
