Galway City Parks Achieve Five Green Flag Awards

Galway City Council has achieved five prestigious Green Flag Awards, at the announcement on 8 November by An Taisce Environmental Education Unit. The Green Flag Awards acknowledge Ireland’s best public parks and gardens, with Quincentennial Park in Salthill achieving the award for the fifth time, Children’s Millennium Park retaining the honour for a sixth year in a row and O’Sullivan Park in Mervue achieving the award for the third time. Both Kennedy Park (Eyre Square) and Terryland Forest Park joined the honour roll this year, with the award of the Green Flag for the first time.

Galway City Council Launches ‘Night Out Access In’ Disability Awareness Training for Night-Time Economy Businesses

Galway City Council, in partnership with Access for All Galway City, Fáilte Ireland, Galway City Partnership, and the Disability Federation of Ireland, is pleased to announce the launch of a new Disability Awareness Training for businesses operating within the city's night-time economy. This initiative, part of the Galway City Council Night-Time Economy Action Plan 2024-2025, aims to create a more inclusive and welcoming environment for people with disabilities, ensuring everyone can enjoy Galway's vibrant nightlife. This training is the first in a series aimed at enhancing accessibility and inclusivity in the night-time economy.
