Galway City Council is pleased to launch a six-week non-statutory public consultation and engagement process on the new South Park and Public Urban Realm Project. We welcome all contributions and feedback.
The South Park and Public Urban Realm Project is an exciting opportunity to reimagine this amazing and historic natural amenity adjacent to the centre of Galway City. The project will be transformational for South Park, the Claddagh Basin, Mutton Island Causeway and Celia Griffin Children’s Memorial Park. It is envisioned that the project will create accessible, public, green spaces, with biodiversity-friendly planting, age and mobility friendly pathways, and spaces for play and relaxation.
Galway City Council and the Design Team would like to invite you to a ‘drop in’ public consultation event:
Date: Thursday 13 February 2025
Time: 1pm to 7:30pm
Venue: Galway City Centre Library, St. Augustine Street, Galway, H91 R6W
Members of the public, including local residents and business owners are invited to attend the event. This is your chance to discuss the plans and ask questions, and to share feedback with the Design Team.
Your input will help shape the future of the area ensuring it serves the needs of the local community both now and for generations to come.
You can read more about the project, including public consultation event details and design considerations, on our dedicated website: www.SouthparkPublicPark.com
