Galway City and Galway County Councils to Commence Shopper and Household Surveys as part of Joint Retail Strategy

View of retail street in Galway City

Galway City Council and Galway County Council are currently preparing a Joint Retail Strategy for the Galway City and County Metropolitan Area.

The Joint Retail Strategy will provide a framework for guiding the development of a vibrant and competitive retail sector within the City and County Metropolitan Area.

The Strategy will seek to promote continued vitality and investment in the main retail area and safeguard Galway’s status as a key driver of economic development and competitiveness in the region.

As part of wider public and stakeholder engagement, shopper and household surveys will commence on 21 October 2024, at various locations across the City and County Metropolitan Area.

The surveys will take place for approximately two weeks. The survey data will be gathered and stored in compliance with GDPR.
