Galway City Council is currently inviting applications for the Horse Drawn Hackney Carriage Licence for 2025 under Galway City Council‘s Non-Motorised Passenger Transporter Bye-Laws 2015. The licence for 2025 will expire on 31st December, 2025.
ROADS TO BE PUBLIC ROADS
In accordance with the provision of the Roads Act, 1993, Galway City Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE of its intention to consider the making of a Declaration that the roads listed hereunder be public roads. This matter will be considered by the said Council at a meeting to be held not earlier than 7th April, 2025.
Galway City Council wishes to acknowledge the frustration of Motorists in the City today, with Pay and Display machines unexpectedly out of order. It was an unexpected inconvenience for both motorists and Galway City Council, and we understand the annoyance motorists experienced.
As previously advertised, card payment will not be available at Pay and Display machines from 7 January 2025.

Galway City Council is delighted to announce that the annual Christmas Park and Ride Service will run from Galway Racecourse to the Fairgreen Coach Station from Saturday 14 December until Tuesday 24 December.
