  • What is Creative Ireland?

    The Creative Ireland programme is a culture based programme designed to promote individual, community and national wellbeing. The vision of Creative Ireland is that every person living in Ireland will have the opportunity to realise fully his or her potential. The Creative Ireland programme also requires each local authority to create a Culture and Creativity Strategy.

    There are currently two open calls available via Galway City’s Creative Ireland Team: 

    Creative Communities Open Call

    Galway City Council Culture and Creativity Team are pleased to announce an open call for Galway based community groups, organisations and creative practitioners to submit applications for the Creative Communities Grant 2024. These grants are offered as part of Galway City’s Creative Communities Programme to deliver creative and cultural activities taking place in 2024.

    Creative Communities 2024 Guidelines 

    Grants offered will range from €2,000 to €10,000

    Deadline for Applications: Thursday, 28 March 2024, 4pm

     

    Cruinniú na nÓg Open Call

    Galway City Council, in partnership with Youth Work Ireland Galway, invite applications to arrange events for Cruinniú na nÓg 2024.  Cruinniú na nÓg is the national day of creativity for children and young people. It celebrates and encourages children and young people’s participation in culture and creativity by providing free, accessible, activity-based creative action in their local areas.  Galway City Council now invites proposals from artists, creative practitioners and our community for creative projects aimed at children and young people aged 0-18 years.

    Cruinniú na nÓg 2024 Guidelines

    Grants offered will range from €500 - €3,000.

    Deadline for Applications: Thursday, 28 March 2024, 4pm

    An information and Q&A session will be held in-person at City Hall and online at 1.30pm, Wednesday 13 March. To register your attendance online or in-person please contact candc@galwaycity.ie.
