Given this, GCC are issuing a Prohibition Notice for Grattan Road Beach. Resamples were taken yesterday (Tuesday 13 August 2024) and we expect these results by tomorrow afternoon (Thursday 1h August 2024). Existing Prohibition Notice at Ballyloughane Beach also remains in place. These beaches are susceptible to Short Term Pollution events and are known to be affected by heavy rainfall. Bathers are asked to observe precautions displayed on posters.
