Details and locations of Galway City Council sports/recreation facilities.

Local authorities may provide financial support to community groups, schools and environmental non governmental organisations to carry out small environmental projects to promote sustainable development.

There are many facilities for playing football, soccer and rugby in Galway City and these facilities are subject to a Galway City Council Letting Agreement with local sports clubs.

There are 30 (thirty) playgrounds in Galway City. The Recreation & Amenity Department take great pride in being a child friendly city and with 30 playgrounds/skate parks/multi use game areas, we aim to have the highest quality of maintenance in place.

There are several tennis courts located in the city.
