Galway Football Team Homecoming in Pearse Stadium Today

Galway City Council, Galway GAA and the Emergency Services will host a Homecoming for the Galway Football Team and Management at Pearse Stadium today to celebrate the team’s extraordinary season.

Doors will open at Pearse Stadium at 5pm, with the team expected to arrive at 6:00pm, when the players and management team will be introduced to the crowd.

The event is a non-ticketed, free event, with family entertainment before the team’s arrival in the stadium.

Well done to all of the players and management of the Galway Senior football team for many weeks and months of excitement and anticipation – thank you for your dedication to your sport, and for your achievements on behalf of your club, your parish, your county – and the people of Galway.

Galway County Council will also host an event in Tuam. Doors will open in Tuam Stadium at 2pm with the team set to arrive between 3.30pm and 4pm.

Road closures will be in place on all approaches to Tuam/ Pearse stadium and patrons are asked to park in council car parks and proceed on foot.

Free parking will be available at City and County Council car parks for the event.

  • Bags will be searched on entry to the stadium - to avoid lengthy queues we strongly advise that you do not bring a bag.
  • This is an alcohol-free event.
  • Any items that may be deemed a hazard in the stadium will not be permitted into the grounds.
  • Photographs and video will be taken at the event, which may be used in Council / Galway GAA / Gardaí publicity, promotional reports, our websites and on social media.
  • Members of the public attending the event are requested to comply with instructions or guidance provided by stewards, security and members of An Garda Síochána.
